If you are considering a breast augmentation, planning ahead for your recovery can help ensure that the process goes smoothly. The first few hours of your recovery will take place in our surgical center as you wake up from the general anesthesia. Your surgeon will have already supplied you with detailed care instructions and a prescription for all of the medications (pain management and antibiotics) you will take for several days. You will need someone to drive you home and care for you during the first 24 hours of your recovery.
Once home, you should rest for two to three days. You will feel tired from the anesthesia and pain medication. It is important to stay hydrated and to supply your body with adequate nutrients so you heal properly. Clean your incisions per your surgeon’s instructions. The following is the timeline you can expect for your recovery.
