Meet Dr. Austin

Originally from California, Dr. Edwin N. Austin graduated from Stanford University, receiving a B.S. with Distinction in Biological Sciences.  He was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, and a recipient of the prestigious American Heart Association Student Research Fellowship. Dr. Austin then completed his medical degree at the UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles, where he was an Alpha Omega Alpha member and recipient of the Gladys M. Shea Prize in Anatomical Sciences.

After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Austin completed his internship and general surgery residency training at the University of Washington Affiliated Hospitals in Seattle. He also completed residency training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.

Dr. Austin is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He began his career in 1992 at Skagit Valley Medical Center in Mount Vernon, Washington, and soon opened his own private practice in plastic and reconstructive surgery in Salem, Oregon. He has maintained his private practice in Salem since 1996. His high quality of care includes a calming bedside manner,  excellent rapport with patients, nursing staff, and fellow medical staff,  and includes an unparalleled reputation throughout the local and regional community. Dr. Austin has patients from all over the Northwest area, including Washington, Idaho, California and more.

In addition to his private practice duties, Dr. Austin also holds clinical appointments at Salem Hospital and Northbank Surgical Center. As an active member of the medical community, Dr. Austin is involved with many professional societies, including:

Throughout his practice experience, Dr. Austin has continued to work with the medical community. He served on the Board of Directors for the Marion-Polk County Medical Society, and was a member of the Continuing Medical Education Committee for over 10 years during which time he served terms as Chairman and Grand Rounds Chairman. Currently he is a member of the Salem Hospital Multidisciplinary Peer Review Committee for patient safety.

R. Jessie Edwards, RN, MN, FNP-BC

A Family Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified (FNP-BC), Jessie has specialized training in cosmetic assessments and treatments, as well as a professional background with an emphasis in patient education and health promotion.  At Oregon Plastic Surgeons, Jessie enjoys working with patients on their assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

Serving Salem and Portland, Oregon, Jessie is a compassionate and collaborative nurse practitioner with more than 25 years of experience. She achieved her bachelor’s of science degree in nursing at the University of Portland then earned her master in nursing degree at Washington State University.

Jessie also has a lead role in skin care treatments at Oregon Plastic Surgeons, and she provides cosmetic assessments and treatments including BOTOX and dermal fillers.  A registered nurse whose experience and education are backed by extensive postgraduate training, Jessie is committed to patient satisfaction from your consultation to your procedure and through your recovery.

Mary, Certified Medical Assistant

Mary is a native Oregonian and lives in Lyons with her husband of 34 years. She enjoys working in her garden and playing with her 4 grandchildren. She also enjoys supporting local schools by attending football games and wrestling matches and is also an Oregon Ducks fan. “My favorite part of working at Oregon Plastic Surgeons is helping patients through their reconstructive journey. I love that our patients place so much trust in us and become like family to us.”

Stephanie

Stephanie has lived in Oregon all her life. Stephanie, her husband, and three children enjoy being in the woods. Whether it’s hiking, riding quads, or riding horses, the family enjoys getting out there, and enjoying Oregon’s beautiful scenery. Stephanie has been in the medical field nearly 15 years, the majority of that spent in the Ophthalmology field. Stephanie loves working with Dr. Austin and his entire staff. Seeing what a difference this practice can make for a patient’s health, and self-confidence, has been a very fulfilling experience.

Kristin, Practice Manager

Kristin has enjoyed managing medical practices for over 25 years with Oregon Plastic Surgeons her favorite since 2007. The physicians are the most compassionate and caring she has had the opportunity to work with and staff that truly cares for the patients. Kristin enjoys watching her son in the many sports he participates in, spending time with her college age daughter, and preparing amazing pasta dishes.

Mindy

Mindy started working for Dr. Austin in 2013. She was born and raised in Oregon, and attended South Salem High School, Chemeketa, Oregon State University and Cosmetology school in Eugene. She and her husband have two dogs and enjoy driving to the coast whenever possible. On her spare time, Mindy enjoys painting, working out and spending time with family.

Angela

Originally from Central California, Angela is a new resident to Oregon. Her family moved here so that our son would have a nice, quiet place to grow up. Angela has three brothers and is very family oriented. “To me family is everything and I look forward to instilling those same values in my son.” She would describe her taste in music as eclectic. Thanks to her parents she loves all types of genres from Mo Town to 80’s Rock to Pop. Angela enjoys trying new things and believes you can never stop learning and growing as a person. She has a profound passion for fashion, “To me fashion is like wearable art, a way to express yourself.”
